Courtney's House Reborn

After close to 10 yrs in our little home we decided it was time for a bigger one.

We looked at moving on. Other established homes needed too much work and new home suburbs were too far away from everything and the houses built too close together.

We liked this area, the school and had made a good circle of friends over that time.

So we took the best of both worlds.

A new home in an old area.

Here we are watering the slab!!!
We did this for about three days just to make sure there was no cracking in the middle of the slab.

.

Alexander had a great time, it was soooo hot that day.
Zoe did you say you were HOT, here you go, have some more water.

Part of me did not want to pour a huge amount of water down the drain but with three consecutive days above 42 degC, it was necessary to ensure no cracking in the slab.

The soak wells are for all the water that will come from the huge roof. It has to go somewhere. My plan is to get some rainwater tanks. There is no need to pour it all into the ground when we could store it. Even if it will be for toilets or garden.
